Enneagram
At CBJ, we use the Enneagram as a core tool in our coaching and facilitation work. The Enneagram is a powerful framework for understanding motivations, strengths, and challenges—helping leaders and teams communicate more effectively, build trust, and grow together. By uncovering the ‘why’ behind behaviors, it fosters deeper self-awareness and lasting transformation.
WHAT IS THE ENNEAGRAM?
The Enneagram is a powerful and scientifically validated personality framework with ancient roots. The term "Enneagram" comes from the Greek words ennea (nine) and gram (written/drawn), representing the nine core personality archetypes it describes. Unlike other assessments that focus primarily on external behaviors, the Enneagram reveals the deeper motivations that drive how people think, feel, and act. By uncovering these patterns, individuals gain a heightened sense of self-awareness leading to lasting transformation in how they see the world, interact with others, and show up as leaders.

Why Leaders & Teams Use the Enneagram
The Enneagram is more than a leadership tool, it strengthens team cohesion, enhances effectiveness, and fosters both personal and professional growth. By creating a more dynamic and empathetic workplace, it helps leaders and teams thrive together.
Enhanced Self-Awareness & Empathy
The Enneagram helps leaders develop a deeper understanding of their motivations, patterns, and blind spots. This heightened self-awareness allows them to recognize how their behaviors impact others and make more intentional choices that align with their leadership values.
Improved Communication
Understanding different Enneagram types allows leaders to tailor their communication, reducing misunderstandings and fostering clearer, more productive interactions. By adapting their approach, they can more effectively engage and motivate those around them.
Conflict Resolution
Conflict often stems from differences in motivation and perspective. The Enneagram provides leaders with a framework to identify the root causes of tension and navigate conflicts with greater awareness and emotional intelligence, leading to more constructive resolutions.
Building Trust
Trust is built through understanding and authenticity. By exploring their own leadership style and gaining insight into how others think and operate, leaders can foster a culture of openness, psychological safety, and stronger team relationships.
Stronger Empathy & Understanding
Whether leading in-person or remote teams, the Enneagram offers a common language that strengthens alignment, improves teamwork, and enhances collaboration across all work settings.
Effective Collaboration in Any Environment
By learning how different Enneagram types think and operate, leaders gain greater appreciation for diverse working styles and perspectives. This increased empathy fosters deeper connections, reduces friction, and helps leaders create a more inclusive and supportive team culture.
